Information we collect
When forms are connected, W.H.E.L.P.S. may receive the contact, household, location, animal, and supporting-file information you voluntarily submit. Rescue and adoption forms can contain sensitive personal information, so submit only what is requested.
How it is used
Information is used to assess rescue reports, adoption applications, volunteer or foster interest, and inquiries; contact you about the request; protect animal and human safety; and maintain necessary operational records.
Sharing and retention
Information may be shared with authorized W.H.E.L.P.S. volunteers, foster coordinators, veterinarians, or service providers only when necessary to handle the request. It is retained only as long as operational or legal needs require. Never publish a private home address in public rescue comments.
Your choices
You may ask W.H.E.L.P.S. through its official Facebook page to access, correct, or request deletion of information, subject to lawful recordkeeping needs. This notice should be reviewed by the organization before form endpoints are enabled.
